Meet the owner of Marvel’s Portable Welding, Chad Marvel. Chad took over the business from his father, Kenny Marvel, in 2017. Over the years, Marvel’s Welding has grown ten-fold with the convenience of portable welding trucks, multiple fabrication tools, numerous additions to the shop, the addition of heavy equipment, trucks and trailer repairs, blasting and priming, and the capacity to make hydraulics and other hoses.
You followed in your father’s footsteps to take over the business. Why?
I began working for my father when I was 18 years old and never left. As time passed, I began to take on more responsibilities and eventually took over the entire business when it was time for him to enjoy retirement. I was proud to continue this family business.

I love to fish whenever I have free time.
What’s something about you that your customers might not know?
I was born in North Carolina and I used to race go karts and stock cars.

I like to spend time with my family, fish, and watch dirt track racing.
